that sometimes the authors might get things wrong, other times they categorically disagree with one another. In reading or listening to anything, we have to remember two main concepts which lead to two key actions:
- Jesus placed His Spirit in us, the "Spirit of Truth,"1 who will guide us into all Truth.2 So, we are not to react categorically (This is the TRUTH!!! or This is Heresy!), but ask the Lord what parts of this are true.
- And remember, JESUS contradicted (apparently) Himself the time.3 And so it makes sense that His followers would contradict each other as well! But the fact that Jesus contradicted Himself didn't make what He was saying untrue or false. Anything but!!! But rather the Truth (which is not a logical construct, but a PERSON)4 is found in tension, within the bounds of the paradox. So each time your rationality is offended, ask God to show you the Truth that lies between the contradictions.
